Its rather weak armament is explained on the one hand by the reliance of the Jedi on their own abilities to avoid conflicts and on the other by the small size of the ship, that therefore has no hyper-space drive of its own. This ultra-light, short fighter is very well protected against fire by the two partly concealed laser cannon that it carries. This single-seat, tapered starfighter is used in large numbers by the Jedi Order in the period of the Galactic Republic, and also by Anakin’s padawan (apprentice), Ahsoka Tano from the Togruta people with the conspicuous head tails. The ship she uses is clearly differentiated from Anakin’s or Obi-Wan’s ship by its dark red paint and the star-shaped decoration on the top.
