Walter Rohrl’s World Rally Champion-winning racer! Introduced in 1970, the non-rally version of the Opel Ascona (the Ascona A) was released in two- and four-door sedan models by General Motors. The second-generation Ascona B inspired the famous Ascona 400 rally car. It included a 2.4-liter engine, which was capable of delivering a staggering 230 hp. In 1982, driver Walter Rohrl took the Ascona 400 to a stunning victory. It was the last rear wheel drive rally car to win the World Rally Championship.
