Description
Extremely exotic. Extremely fast.

Introduced in 1995, the Diablo VT Roadster featured an all-wheel drive set-up with a viscous center differential. The Roadster replaced the typical fixed top with an electric carbon fiber targa top and removable roof section. The engine lid was heavily modified so that the V-12 engine had proper ventilation when the roof covered it. Servo-assisted Brembo® four-wheel disc brakes provided superior stopping power. Kit features a screw-on chassis, rolling wheels with metal axles, soft black tires, chrome-plated parts and colorful Peel ‘n Stick decals. Standard screwdriver required.

Paint and glue not needed. Each Make ‘n Take event package contains everything needed to build 25 complete models. (Packages shipping to addresses in Illinois will need to have applicable sales taxes added to the total.)

Paul Goldsmith’s racing career was as memorable as it was versatile. During the late 1940s and early 1950s, Goldsmith participated in A.M.A. Grand National Championship motorcycle racing while working for Chrysler®. By the mid-1950s, Goldsmith switched to stock cars, winning the final Daytona Beach Road Course race in 1958. He started in six Indy 500® races between 1958 and 1963, finishing in the top five twice. When the Diablo VT first hit the streets in 1993, it was the fastest production car in the world. This all-wheel drive speed demon was powered by a 492 hp, 5.7L V-12 engine, which could reach 62 mph (100 km/h) just 4.5 seconds. Top speed was 202 mph (325 km/h). A Viscous Traction (VT) drivetrain delivered 25% torque to the front wheels, boosting traction and handling. Conceived and constructed in total secrecy, the 1964 Pontiac GTO is considered the first true “muscle car” by many auto aficionados. The prototype was so confidential that none of the head honchos at GM® knew it even existed. At first, sales expectations were so low that production was limited to only 5,000 models. However, the GTO was such a success that Pontiac sold 32,450 units in the car’s first year. By the season’s end, Pearson was celebrating his first NASCAR championship win. He went on to earn two more championship wins in 1968 and 1969.
