Launched in 1962, Project Gemini marked the second NASA® human spaceflight program. Its missions allowed the U.S. to test the technology and procedures that would make Project Apollo possible. Gemini resulted in the first American spacewalks, as well as rendezvous and docking experience for its astronauts.
