Description
The most-produced German bomber of WWII.

Initially designed to resemble an everyday transport aircraft, the Heinkel He 111’s true purpose was to act as a fast medium bomber for the Luftwaffe. Distinguishing features of the “P” variant included a Daimler-Benz DB-601A-1 water-cooled engine and a redesigned nose section that was equipped to carry an MG 15 machine gun. Over 6,500 He 111s were built in all, making it the most-produced German bomber aircraft of World War II. Kit features a highly detailed undercarriage, an ultra-realistic cockpit, an open weapons bay and exquisite interior detailing.

Introduced just after WWII’s end, the de Havilland Vampire was the second jet fighter (after the Gloster Meteor) to be flown by the RAF. Originally designed in the late 1930s as an observation aircraft, the OS2U Kingfisher had a remarkable career aiding the Allies in rescue and reconnaissance missions during WWII. The RAF’s first jet-powered fighter.

Capable of speeds approaching 585 mph (941 km/h), the Gloster Meteor was the Allies’ first operational jet in WWII. While it wasn’t as aerodynamic as subsequent jets, the Meteor managed to outmaneuver its enemies with moderate success. No. 616 Squadron first received its Meteors in July 1944. By the following week, the squadron scored its first “kills” against two V-1 flying bombs. Kit features structured surfaces with engraved panel joints, a cockpit with instrument panel, a detailed undercarriage, fuel tanks, an alternate fuselage pod and decals for two RAF aircraft.
